Ooooh, Angora Cardi – one of the fall Essie nail polish colors most known on Pinterest, and one of my favorites ever: I couldn’t wait to tell you all about it!

The Angora Cardi nail polish is one I got last year at Superdrug, one of the makeup stores I spend most time at when it’s the time of the year that I live in London.

Why Did I Buy Essie Angora Cardi?

Angora Cardi is described as a deep dusty rose nail polish, and it’s pretty much true – depending on the lighting and angle, it can look more of a soft burgundy or mauve nail polish.

I had been eyeing this fall color for some time when I finally got it: I was actually starting my collection of mauve Essie nail polish colors, and decided it was high time to take the tone up a notch.

For reference, I already had in my stash Lady Like (a gorgeous soft mauve!) and Clothing Optional, darker and a tad more brown – I just wanted to broaden my collection and work my way up to burgundy colors.

In terms of burgundy or dark red Essie nail polishes, I also already have Wicked, Bordeaux, and Full Blast from the fall 2023 collection, and of course, they’re all different enough that it made sense for me to have them all.

Two, two coats and a half are enough to bring the Angora Cardi nail polish to full opacity, and the formula is nicely pigmented, enough that even if it’s a darker kind of mauve, it doesn’t need too much work.

The soft burgundy/deep dusty rose color is quite unique.

I love burgundy and dark nail polishes – and not only for fall, and this one seems to offer the best of both worlds in terms of how fast the application is vs how deep the color is.

Essie Angora Cardi Nail Polish: Would I Buy Again?

If given the opportunity to purchase Essie Angora Cardi again, I would – again and again.

I feel like while the white, neutral and sheer nail polishes from the brand are my favorites, the dark Essie polishes are very performant, and don’t necessarily require too much work – just enough care to apply.

That mix of burgundy and mauve in Angora Cardi makes it oh, so special, and a great color to wear with something golden for a sophisticated nail look, and that would be, if I may, Essie Buy Me a Cameo.

Now, given that Angora Cardi is dark-ish but still a muted nail polish color, it’s a shade I also see working very well on medium and dark skin.

However, if you’re looking for a lighter type of color, check out Lady Like, Demure Vix or Clothing Optional and, for something lighter and more brown in terms of nude nail polish, Eternal Optimist.

In any case, Angora Cardi is one of my favorite fall nail colors, and that’s definitely one to have in your stash!
