I love lip balms, and I love lip butters – if there’s one I have been swearing by for months now, it’s the Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Kiss lip butter.

Let’s just start by saying that the Sol de Janeiro 71 scent is one of my favorites, and I currently own them all, from the latest, Cheirosa 48 and Cheirosa 76, to the classic ones, Cheirosa 62, 40 and 68.

(By the way, the Cheirosa 40 body mist is… on some other type of level – in a word, it’s incredible).

With notes of caramelized vanilla, toasted macadamia nut, white chocolate and tonka bean for the strongest, the Cheirosa 71 body mist was already a favorite of mine when I discovered, by chance, that the Brazilian Kiss lip butter also offered that scent.

And boy, beyond an incredible fragrance, is it one of the best lip butters I’ve ever used!

Here’s what Sol de Janeiro says about the Brazilian Kiss Cupuaçu Lip Butter:

Our ultra-indulgent butter leaves lips looking smoother and feeling softer, thanks to an infusion of Cupuaçu Butter, Açaí Oil, and Coconut Oil.

Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Kiss Lip Butter: Why Did I Buy?

I have bought so many Sol de Janeiro products from the duty free, in between my many flights between Rome, Paris and London, that some of them, I can’t even remember if I got at the airport or online.

I know for certain that all of my Sol de Janeiro body creams, I got online, on the Notino website.

If I remember well, I also got the Brazilian Kiss lip butter on that website as there was a small sale going on.

It was back when I first discovered the Sol de Janeiro body mists, skincare and haircare products; I had to have all of them, as my obsession dictates when I fall in love with new makeup, skincare or nail polish.

Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Kiss Lip Butter: Is It Worth It?

The Brazilian Kiss lip butter combines a few ultra-hydrating and nourishing ingredients that include cupuaçu butter, coconut oil and açai oil.

These three active ingredients make it quick and easy to nourish not only the lips (it can be used as a lipstick/lipstain base, like for the Maybelline Superstay Vinyl Ink), but also for cuticles and elbows, and is a product that can also serve as a highlighter.

If you’re asking me whether the Brazilian Kiss lip butter is worth it, and while it retails for $18, I definitely think it is.

And the reason for this is that it is a multi-use product, which is my favorite kind of product – I actually use it more on my cuticles before nail polish swatches, than I do on my lips!

Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Kiss Lip Butter: Buy Again or Buy Something Else?

One can’t deny that the Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Kiss lip butter is expensive: you can easily find more affordable lip butters and lip balms at the drugstore from brands like Nivea and Labello.

However, the composition here is completely cruelty-free, with some ingredients we’re not used to seeing enter the formulas of classic lip butters.

Plus, the Cheirosa 71 scent, which is very soft but still present, makes it feel amazing on the lips.

I sometimes also spread a bit of the lip butter on my shoulders before spraying the 71 body mist to make the scent stronger and longer-lasting.

All in all, if given the opportunity to buy the Sol de Janeiro lip butter instead of another more classic lip balm or lip butter, I would, again and again.

At 6.2 g, it’s huge, and is the kind of product you invest in from the get-go, but that you can use for months as a little goes a very long way.

Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Kiss Lip Butter Review - best sol de janeiro products

The Brazilian Kiss lip butter is easily one of the best Sol de Janeiro products, and one I keep recommending to my close ones.

I do wish it came in other popular scents from the brand; what I wouldn’t do to find this lip butter in the Cheirosa 68 or Cheirosa 40 scents…!

They’re two of my ultimate favorites along with Cheirosa 71, and would be so great to apply also during the spring and summer, where 71 is particularly great for fall and winter.

Plus, from time to time, I’ll also use the lip butter as a base for some of the weaker scents from the brand, like the Cheirosa 59 scent, when I don’t want to layer the spray on top of the Delicia Drench body butter!

Until next time!
