In the article I wrote about the best Sol de Janeiro body mist scents, I ranked Cheirosa 40 first, and that’s a fragrance I have not been able to keep my hands away from, ever since I bought it last year.

Actually, at the time of writing, I’ve almost run out, and I’m not too happy about it, as, layered with the Cheirosa 68 body mist, it’s one of the Sol de Janeiro products I’ve used the most in the past months.

Top: Black Amber Plum, Crème de Cassis
Mid: Jasmine Blooms, Brazilian Orchid

I remember very well the first time I smelled Cheirosa 40.

I was at the airport, waiting for one of my countless flights from or to Rome (can’t even remember!), and all I wanted to smell was the popular Cheirosa 62 body mist.

Well, joke on me – while I did purchase the 62 body mist, I actually fell even more in love with Cheirosa 68 and Cheirosa 40, which we’re seeing today.

Something about the 40 body mist just smelled incredible, the type of scent that is feminine, sultry, all-too-powerful, sweet and floral at the same time, and overall unforgettable.

Seeing as the Cheirosa 40 body mist is one of the strongest Sol de Janeiro scents and how long lasting it is on my skin, yes, it is worth it.

The only downside to my one is that only the travel size was available at the duty free.

Otherwise, I would have gotten the 240 mL size straight away, like I did with Cheirosa 62 and, later, the Cheirosa 59 body mist and Delicia Drench body butter online.

There’s no denying that the Sol de Janeiro products are expensive, but a lot of the scents are very different from what I usually wear, like my strong Penhaligons Babylon, or my Santa Maria Novella Cinquanta perfume.

These feel lighter, which makes sense since they are body mists, but the fragrance combinations are so interesting that they can quickly become your signature scents, like the Cheirosa 40 + 68 combo has become for me.

So, if given the opportunity to purchase Cheirosa 40 again, I would, without a doubt, without batting an eye, and without worrying about what my banker will ever think about my endless Sol de Janeiro purchases.

I feel like the black amber plum, vanilla woods, musk and orchid mix in this particular Sol de Janeiro body mist hits the spot.

Strong, long lasting, layering to perfection with the rest of the Cheirosa 40 Bom Dia Bright products, it’s one of my best buys from the brand.

I also layer it on top of my Valentino Born in Roma Coral Fantasy perfume from time to time, to make it stronger and a little more sultry than summery – the combo is incredible.

Now, if you enjoy strong scents but would like something sweeter than oriental, another scent I can very warmly recommend is the Cheirosa 71 scent.

Not only does it come in a very strong and also long lasting Cheirosa 71 body mist, but you can also have that intoxicating scent in one of the most nourishing lip balms I’ve ever owned, the Brazilian Kiss lip butter!
