When Thanks It’s MAC was released as a new Lustreglass lipstick shade a couple of years ago, I instantly knew I wanted it.

Granted, I was never much into nude lipsticks, nor into glossy lipsticks.

Still, at that time, I was experimenting a lot with sheer lipsticks on top of my beloved Barry M and MAC lip liners, both on myself and on models during photoshoots, and felt this was a great shade to work with.

Since I currently own a few of the most popular Lustreglass lipstick shades, and Thanks It’s MAC is one I believe can suit most skin tones, this review should come in handy if you’re looking into treating yourself to this particular color.

Here’s how this review is structured:

  • What makes Thanks It’s MAC different and who it’s most suitable for
  • Two possible lip liner combos with Thanks It’s MAC
  • Comparison of Thanks It’s MAC vs Hug Me and the MACximal Velvet Teddy lipstick

MAC Thanks It’s MAC Lipstick: What Makes It Different?

Described as a taupey pink nude with silver pearl, Thanks It’s MAC is an interesting shade to have in your stash if:

  • you regularly have dry lips and would like to find a really hydrating lipstick
  • you enjoy sheer lipsticks with an easily buildable color
  • you are looking for a pinkish nude lipstick that can be worn with both cool-toned and warm-toned lip liners

Thanks It’s MAC, on olive skin, is gorgeous.

That’s my skin tone, and I swear by this color because it just seems to adapt to each and every possible skin tone.

Far from being an ultra statement lipstick, we have here a very nude, chameleon type of color, with sparkles inside so adorable that all you want to do is apply it again and again.

If you’re have skin with warm undertones, Indian skin, or medium skin, this is also a color that should look great no matter which lip liner you wear in combination with it.

MAC Thanks It’s MAC Lipstick: Lip Liner Combos with Spice and Half Red

Above is the MAC Thanks It’s MAC lipstick swatch along with two possible lip combos:

  • MAC Spice lip liner, a cinnamon pink lip liner great for every day, and especially beautiful on all kinds of warm skin tones – use it for an everyday kind of lip combo
  • MAC Half Red lip liner, a personal favorite; a muted plummish mauve lip liner that pairs well with many lipsticks, from Sweet Deal to Twig Twist – use it to add more depth to Thanks It’s MAC

Since Thanks It’s MAC brings only a touch of color to the lips, it’s easy to wear with any type of lip liner underneath – from a very nude Kiko Smart Fusion lip pencil to MAC Beet for berry mauve lips, it’s really, overly, gorgeously versatile.

MAC Thanks It’s MAC vs Hug Me vs MACximal Velvet Teddy Lipstick Swatches and Comparison

The MAC Thanks It’s MAC lipstick is the only one of its kind, unlike many of the new MACximal lipsticks which are the new versions of very popular shades like Mehr, Twig, Whirl or Velvet Teddy.

  • Thanks It’s MAC vs Hug Me: both are from the Lustreglass range, but where Thanks It’s MAC is pinker, with tiny, tiny silverish sparkle inside, Hug Me is more of a soft brown lipstick – same color saturation
  • Thanks It’s MAC vs Velvet Teddy (MACximal): the new Velvet Teddy lipstick is pinker, much more saturated, and a soft matte lipstick where Thanks It’s MAC is sheer, glossier, and the teensiest bit browner

Nude Lips: MAC Thanks It’s MAC Swatch, Lip Combos, Comparison

Whenever there are talks of Thanks It’s MAC, the Hug Me lipstick isn’t that far behind, and it’s easy to understand why, as when you’re in store or checking them out online, they look very much alike.

Now, Thanks It’s MAC is so easy to adapt on top of nude, berry, pink or brown lip liners, even if only just to give a soft sheen to your lips, that I believe it’s a must-have in anyone’s stash.

If, however, the pinkish side of this everyday nude bothers you, Hug Me is another one of the most popular MAC lipsticks, and just by looking at the swatches, one can easily get why!

Psss… To wear with the gorgeous sheer Essie nail polishes, like Vanity Fairest, Mademoiselle or Sugar Daddy!

Until next time!
