Remember when I told you about some of my favorite mint green nail polishes some time ago?
Well, I thought today’s post could be dedicated to a gradient of gorgeous mint, bright and dark green nail polishes that can be worn from spring to winter.
It’s true I’ve been loving sheer, pink, nude and mauve nail polishes lately, but there’s something really cool, really freeing about wearing green on your nails – doesn’t matter whether it’s really light or almost black!
Green Nails: 7 Beautiful Mint to Dark Green Nail Polish Swatches
In this guide, you’ll find some of my favorite drugstore nail polish brands: Essie, Barry M, Revlon and Douglas Collection.
Aside from being quite affordable, especially when it comes to the Douglas and Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine collections, all seven colors here are super pigmented, long lasting and apply extremely well.

Why Did I Buy These Green Nail Polish Colors?
Wearing green on my nails is something I love – almost as much as periwinkle blue or duochrome pink nails, and that is just fitting, since depending on the hue/saturation/tone, green can suit any season.
I remember buying my green Barry M Gelly Hi Shine nail polishes at Superdrug a few months back, while I got Revlon Bright Side and Essie Off Tropic and Meet Me at Midnight last year, a little before my birthday.
I love collecting things, and when it comes to makeup or nail polish, it just pleases me to have full gradients in my collections.
That’s how I told you about some of my favorite mauve nail polishes, and some of the best nude nail polishes from Barry M lately, and I’m well on my way to cover just about any color.
Except for yellow and orange, I’m thinking, as these are colors I don’t usually wear on my nails.

Green Nail Polish Swatches on Fake Nails
From the get-go, we can see that polishes like the Barry M Pear nail polish and the Revlon Ultra HD Snap in Bright Side are some of the warmer greens I have in my stash.
And since, from the nail swatches, you won’t really see the difference in undertone between Essie Off Tropic and Douglas Beyond Green Limits, I thought a fake nail swatch could come in handy for comparison.
Depending on the lighting, Essie Off Tropic is warmer toned, more of a forest green nail polish than the Douglas nail polish, which is more blue-toned.

Green Nail Polish Swatches from Mint Green to Forest Green
Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Eucalyptus Swatch
One of my favorite Barry M Gelly-Hi Shine Nail Paint colors is Eucalyptus, which I reviewed a few days ago for you.
Some type of gorgeous desaturated mint green, Eucalyptus is that shade I’ll wear whether it’s spring or winter, and it makes for a cool summer nail color with a twist.
Gorgeous with Barry M Cotton, a crisp white, and also amazing with dark brown nail polish, like the Kiko Power Pro 26 Reddish Mauve for fall-inspired nail designs.

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Pistachio Swatch
A tad warmer, a tad darker, and a tad darker – that’s what Barry M Pistachio is compared to Eucalyptus.
If you’re looking for a somewhat darker green nail polish, check out the Pear nail polish below; just know that Pistachio is a gorgeous spring or summer shade, opaque in two to three coats.

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Pear Swatch
Aside from the Hi-Vis nail paint range, which offers, if I remember well, a couple of really neon green nail polishes, the Gelly Hi-Shine Pear nail polish is the brightest, really summery green Barry M currently carries.
It feels a tad warmer-toned than Pistachio, and much more saturated and brighter than Eucalyptus.
That’s a color I love pairing with Hot Chilli (a bright red), Tangerine (a bright orange) and Cotton (a white) for abstract nail art designs.

Revlon Ultra HD Snap Bright Side Swatch
The brightest drugstore green nail polish I currently own is part of the exquisite Revlon Ultra HD Snap nail polish range, of which I own 9 shades.
Although Revlon promises one-coat coverage for all of the Ultra HD Snap colors (and it is true for most, like the bright pink Rule the World), I prefer applying two coats for Bright Side, an almost yellow green nail polish.
Gorgeous paired with really cool brown colors or a deep plum nail polish (maybe Essie Angora Cardi if you want a warmer kind of dark mauve) and some white!

Essie Meet Me at Midnight Swatch
I have very few khaki nail polishes in my stash at the moment; Essie Meet Me at Midnight, from the fall 2023 Step Out of Line collection is one of them – and may be my favorite.
I love khaki everything; from khaki eyeliners to nail colors and mascara, this color seems to suit many different skin tones effortlessly, including my fair olive skin.
Two coats are enough with Essie Meet Me at Midnight, which results in a color oscillating between a warm khaki and an almost forest green from some angles.
Really gorgeous with light pink (Essie Mademoiselle or Not Just a Pretty Face, for instance), or light gold (Essie Buy Me a Cameo).

Essie Off Tropic Swatch
If you’re looking for a proper dark green, Essie Off Tropic is a beautiful one to have in your stash – it’s perfect to wear with some silver nail polish, or to use for Christmas nail designs.
Opaque in two coats, the Off Tropic nail polish also happens to be one of the smoothest and most pigmented in my collection of Essie nail polishes, even if it’s one of the darkest I have along with Wicked and Licorice.

Douglas Collection Beyond Green Limits Swatch
As I said at the beginning of this guide/review, the Douglas Beyond Green Limits is more blue-toned than Essie Off Tropic, and what I love about it, beyond its color, is the outstanding formula.
I currently have about 15/20 colors in my collection of Douglas Collection nail polishes, and this one is perfect if you’re looking for new fall nail colors.
