A complete review of three Barry M Sheer Strength nail polish colors with swatches – beautiful sheer nude nail polishes from the drugstore for every skin tone!

Let’s just start this new review by saying that there are two things I love when painting my nails: using a Barry M nail polish, and using a sheer nail polish.

That’s all I have to say about this.

From winter to summer nail polishes, this small British makeup brand has them all, with new, excellent collections released seasonally – and all seemingly better than the previous one!

So, a few months ago, when I was getting the new Barry M Glazed Sheer nail polishes and saw another new collection drop, the Sheer Strength Hardening nail paints, well, my, I got a bit of both.

I have three of the four Sheer Strength nail polishes which were first released.

Two other colors dropped a couple of weeks/months that I don’t yet have, but these three are suitable for pretty much any skin tone, so here goes!

Why Did I Buy Barry M Sheer Strength?

I am used to the Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine nail paints, which are some of my favorite drugstore nail polishes.

They’re thick enough to cover the nail in one to two coats depending on the color, dry fast, and long lasting – what more could you want for £4?

However, sheer nail polish in the Barry M brand is new; at least, I never saw that type of product until a few months ago when traveling to London.

I first saw the Sheer Bliss color, a soft sheer pink in a shade that I didn’t yet have, despite owning all of the sheer Essie nail polishes, from Mademoiselle to Ballet Slippers, and from Not Just a Pretty Face to Vanity Fairest.

Since there was a 3×2 deal on the Barry M nail polishes at Superdrug, I got the three shades that looked most different from what I already had in my stash at that point – along with almost all of the Barry M lip liners, which are so great you should not miss out on them.

If there’s something you can’t fault with the Barry M Sheer Strength Nail Paint range, it’s the application.

Actually, there’s nothing to fault with them – I am inexorably in love with the formula, how it applies, and how long lasting it ends up being on the nails.

Barry M Sheer Strength Nail Paint in Sheer Bliss

Sheer Bliss is one of the lightest nude nail polishes from the Sheer Strength range, and the only pink polish out of the three we have here today.

With its soft pink shade which lightly sublimes my natural nail color, it also happens to be my favorite, and one I wear with one or two coats depending on my mood.

Barry M Sheer Strength Nail Paint in Sheer Style

Sheer Style is a mid tone brown with slight warm undertones – the formula is just as great, and swatched here are three coats (I’ve used three for each, so you would see their undertones better).

Sheer Joy is a darker type of brown nail polish which would look gorgeous as a nude on dark fingertips – the undertone looks slightly yellow on my nails.

Barry M Sheer Strength Nail Paint: Would I Buy Again?

If given the opportunity to get the Sheer Strength nail polishes again, I would only get Sheer Bliss, the lightest color I have shown you today.

I would also get Sheer Charm, a brighter and pinker version of Sheer Bliss, which boasts more mauve undertones, and Sheer Grace, more nude and pinker.

As I said earlier, the formula Barry M has come up with for this new range of polishes is great – even one coat is enough to cover the whole nail without being streaky, which makes for a really quick mani!

Part of me wishes that Barry M would release even more sheer colors, of the kind of jelly nail polish which has been trending lately.

While I love sheer nail polishes, I never actually felt like the Barry M brand was missing any of these sheers I wear so much, given that there are dozens of colors in the Gelly Hi-Shine range.

I actually have a lot of these Gelly Hi-Shine nail polishes in the works for you, from my favorite, Cotton, to soft and bright blue nail polishes like Blue Margarita and Berry Parfait, and so many more.

But for now, if you’re looking for the perfect sheer nude nail polish to get on a budget, you know these are great staples for your stash!
