Even if I’ve long deserted the aisles of MAC Cosmetics on the Champs Elysées and Covent Garden, and haven’t seen a photo shoot set in a while, my love for the MAC products has been going strong for years.

And if there’s one particular product I love, aside from the MACximal lipsticks, are the pigments.

Or loose eyeshadows, however you want to call this range of way-too-underrated MAC products, which can be used with the famous Inglot Duraline, or withe the MAC Lipglass Clear I’ve been using ever since I can remember.

When I first started getting interested in loose eyeshadow products, like those from Neve Cosmetics, I didn’t really know much about MAC Cosmetics.

Heck, I didn’t know much about MAC Cosmetics lipsticks and products before a famous French Youtuber, EnjoyPhoenix, started ranting so much about them – and the lipstick she created in collaboration with the brand years ago.

But you know me.

You know how much lipsticks, nail polish and eyeshadows – if you’ve been here before.

And if there’s one product you absolutely have to know about, if you’re interested in the MAC Cosmetics brand, it really is their pigment range.

Why Did I Buy These MAC Pigment Colors?

A few months ago, when I was still living in Rome, Italy, I really wanted to treat myself to as many MAC lipsticks and other products as possible.

I hadn’t gone shopping in a while, and makeup shopping in Rome is really fun as aside from MAC and Sephora, you do have lots of smaller drugstore and affordable brands like Kiko Milano and Wycon Cosmetics.

A few years ago, I already owned most (or all?) of the MAC pigment colors, but this time, as I was spending my own money and wasn’t working for MAC Cosmetics anymore, I had to make a choice and chose the colors I was once very fond of – without thinking twice, may I add.

MAC Pigment: Buy Again or Buy Something Else?

I only swatched these MAC pigment colors after wetting my arm with a wet wipe: usually, when wearing these as eyeliners on my eyes, I’m going to use the Inglot Duraline or the Neve Cosmetics Rugiada Per Makeup.

See how colorful, and how beautiful these duochrome colors are?

If you’ve been here before, you know that I’m really fond of anything revolving around duochrome nail polish or makeup, and how could I not love these?

What’s amazing about the MAC pigments is that once blended with some base making them waterproof and smudge-proof, the duochrome really pops and lasts all day long…

Which goes to show, once again, why MAC Cosmetics is one of the best makeup brands in the world.

MAC Pigment Swatches: Melon, Golden Olive, Pink Pearl, Blue Brown

Melon, a gorgeous coral gold, Golden Olive, a soft golden green, Pink Pearl, a cool-toned purple pink, and Blue Brown, a reddish brown pigment with blue duochrome, are some of the best loose eyeshadows I currently own.

Years ago, when I was still working on photoshoots, I would use these a lot with the Inglot Duraline product and clear lipgloss to create the most stunning looks.

And while the MAC pigments are not currently some of the best known products from MAC Cosmetics, they are, in my opinion, products that any makeup enthusiast or makeup artist should have in their stash.
