If you’re ever looking for duochrome eyeshadow brands, you’ll find that the very best are small indie brands, and often family-run.
And while duochrome and multichrome eyeshadows are more popular than ever, there’s one product that, despite its bling effect, seems to stay a little bit in the shadow: duochrome lip gloss.
Some time ago, I tried the Glisten Cosmetics Chroma Gloss range and just simply, utterly, fell in love.
Every single Glisten Cosmetics product I’ve tried in the past (and I’ve tried many!) is amazing, whether it be the Chroma Flik eyeliners or the Chroma Magic liquid eyeshadows.
But these lipglosses…
A wonder.
A marvelous gem, a find I never thought I’d come across, and am oh, so happy I did.
Duochrome Lipgloss Aesthetic: Glisten Cosmetics Chroma Gloss Swatches
Glisten Cosmetics was born in 2017, and is currently what I consider one of the best indie British makeup brands.
The wet liners are one of the most popular Glisten Cosmetics products, and year after year, the small makeup brand has released lipglosses, eyeliners, eyeshadows and cheek products all more incredible than the previous one.
What’s important to the brand, and a value that I, as a makeup artist, particularly appreciate, is its inclusivity: no matter what skin tone you have, their products will look great.
It does always depend on the undertone of your skin and the product color you choose, but the pigmentation is so intense that whether you have fair or dark skin, pink, purple or dark lips, the Glisten Cosmetics products will show up.

Further down this review, I have published a picture with each Glisten Cosmetics Chroma Gloss shade so you’d know straight away the name of your favorites.
However, let’s stop for a moment and enjoy the beauty of absolutely every single shade.
These Chroma Gloss swatches are made with two layers for each color, and from the lightest to the deepest teal blue, they are all incredibly pigmented.

It feels like the Chroma Gloss range is split into two parts.
For instance, the lightest shades (Luna, Nova, Aurora and Stella) are more translucent and glittery, while the darkest shades (Atlas, Vega, Maia and Electra) offer a fuller color with a stronger duochrome effect.
Below are all the Glisten Cosmetics Chroma Gloss swatches with their names:
While all swatch really well with gorgeous multichrome and duochrome effects depending on the shade, I do have my favorites.
It’s important to note that the Chroma Gloss products are non-sticky, vegan and cruelty free, which is great whether you want to wear them on their own, on the eyes, or as a topper with a matte lipstick underneath (or satin, I said matte so the lipgloss mixes less with the lipstick).
Nova, in particular, would be great as a summer lipgloss color, especially on top of a pink coral lipstick.
I cannot deny that the shade Atlas, which its purple blue duochrome we’re usually used with when it comes to duochrome eyeshadow or nail polish, is another gem from the range.
The two Glisten Cosmetics lipglosses which stroke me as the best, though, are Vega, a gorgeous apple green with turquoise duochrome (because it’s just such a rare color!) and Maia with its green to gold to burgundy multichrome.

Is there anything to dislike at all about the Chroma Gloss range?
In my opinion, nothing at all – even the price, £15 a pop, is reasonable for such a performant product from an indie brand.
Plus, if you want to get the whole set, Glisten Cosmetics has a bundle which retails for £100, saving us £20.
The first thing I thought of with these is that I wanted to try a liquid matte black lipstick to see which result it would give, but I also have to admit that if I was still doing makeup, I would probably have used them on the eyes for editorial looks!

Is there anything more to add, really?
In the hopes that indeed, a picture is worth a thousand words, you’ll hopefully have discovered here all the magic of the Glisten Cosmetics Chroma Gloss range.
I do have other products from the brand to review (they’re in the works and will be published very soon!) which include the Chroma Flik, the Glis Gloss and Chroma Magic ranges that I mentioned at the beginning of the post and, want to know something?
They’re just as soon as the Chroma Gloss, if not better – if that’s even possible.
Until next time!
