A while back, I told you all about the new MAC MACximal lipsticks, and I thought I’d keep going with a few guides about MAC products with swatches.

Well, we’re starting today with a post about some amazing fall lipsticks that echo to perfect some of the fall nail polish colors I shared with you a few weeks ago.

We have here some mauve lipsticks like Twig Twist, some subtly warm nude lipsticks like Stay Curious, and some just a teeny bit darker, like the new Captive Audience audience lipstick from the MACximal range.

For the purposes of this guide, I’ve chosen to share with you some of my personal favorite fall MAC lipsticks.

I have a fair olive skin tone (NW15 in MAC foundation), and these all look pretty amazing on fair skin.

However, this guide is intended for most skin tones, including medium skin and dark skin who would like to create lip combos.

MAC Business Casual Lipstick (Lustreglass)

Business Casual is one of the newest Lustreglass lipsticks from MAC, very hydrating, with a translucent color that can easily be built up.

The color is a soft copper, or a muted orange with brown undertones – perfect for warm skin, and a shade that can slightly remind you of Marrakesh, one of my favorite statement lipsticks from MAC.

MAC Stay Curious Lipstick (Powder Kiss)

A very powdery matte lipstick, Stay Curious happens to be one of the most popular MAC lipsticks, and looks amazing on all kinds of skin tones, from Asian skin to fair skin and medium skin.

Wear a slightly darker lip liner around (one of the Kiko Smart Fusion lip liners can do if you like switching up the lip liners you use), or just blur out the edges if you want to use Stay Curious on its own.

Can also be used as a blush as it blends out so well!

MAC Go Retro Lipstick (MACximal)

From the new MACximal lipstick range, Go Retro is the new version of the Satin lipstick Retro, and a muted red with a brown undertone.

Especially gorgeous during fall and winter, it’s one that reminds me the most of a Revlon Ultra HD Snap nail polish I love, Red and Real – wear them together and you’ve got the perfect fall nail/lip combo.

MAC Del Rio Lipstick (Satin)

Del Rio can sometimes be mistaken with Go Retro, or at least the old version, Retro – not so much anymore, as we can really see that Del Rio is cooler-toned, more plum, where Go Retro is more red.

This is one of my favorite fall MAC lipsticks, and one amazing when worn with the Plum lip liner or Chestnut from the same brand – and great with the Douglas Singular Mocassin nail polish on the hands.

MAC Paramount Lipstick (Satin)

Paramount is a warm chocolate brown lipstick I’ve loved ever since I can remember, and like Del Rio, it is part of the Satin range, which offers full pigmentation with a more comfortable texture than the matte lipsticks from MAC.

It’s gorgeous with the MAC lip liner in Mahogany, and fun fact, used to be one of the lipsticks worn by Jennifer Aniston in Friends.

MAC Creme in Your Coffee Lipstick (Cremesheen)

Creme in Your Coffee is one of the most hydrating lipsticks from MAC, a cool brown lipstick with a strong mauve undertone, and one that looks great with the Soar lip liner underneath, or even Stone if you’d like to make it even more greige.

MAC Twig Twist Lipstick (MACximal)

Twig Twist, the new version of the Twig lipstick from the Satin range, has a soft matte formula that is not only super pigmented but also lasts pretty much all day long.

This one here is the only pink lipstick I have chosen for this guide, and with its slightly mauve/brown undertone, it can actually be used as a spring or summer lipstick too.

MAC Soar Lipstick (MACximal)

The Soar lipstick is currently one of the darkest mauve lipsticks at MAC, and is also part of the MACximal range – the color is amazing on olive skin, as well as medium and dark skin.

If you have pale or fair skin and would like to go for a more vampy kind of look without going for a truly burgundy lipstick, it’s a great pick.

MAC Captive Audience Lipstick (MACximal)

Captive Audience is a toned down plum lipstick I’ve loved ever since I got Captive, from the Satin range, a few years ago – Captive was actually my very first MAC lipstick ever.

The updated color is brighter, a bit more cooler-toned, too, and is especially gorgeous if you’re looking for the perfect fall lipstick shade.

I will most definitely write many more swatch guides about my picks for MAC lipsticks by skin tone and by season, and that’s partly why I was so excited to write this one.

The other reason is that I love anything related to autumn – being born in November, it kind of makes sense.

A few summer lipgloss and lipstick shades can be worn during the fall, too, provided they have either a little brownish or berry undertone, but these are definitely the ones I’ll reach out for most often this fall!
