Essie Punk At Heart Nail Polish Swatches (Fall 2024)

A review of three nail polishes from the Essie Punk at Heart collection for fall 2024 with swatches: Patch It Up, Never Too Bold and Studs & Spikes, gorgeous fall colors!

Released a few weeks ago, the Punk at Heart collection by Essie offers six new gorgeous colors, from bright to olive green, glittery teal and deep purple – and they’re all perfect.

Not only perfect for fall, but also for winter; as the days become cooler and cooler, I can see myself wearing these a lot this year.

Out of the three colors available in this new range of fall Essie nail polishes, I’ve purchased three: three that seemed different from what I already have in my stash, like Angora Cardi, Mrs Always Right or Ferris of Them All.

Which is a lot, especially when it comes to fall nail polishes.

Essie Patch It Up Swatch

What Essie says:

put on your headphones and drown out the noise, this creamy olive green vegan nail polish with yellow and black undertones will leave you feeling like nothing else matters.

As there are few green Essie nail polishes currently available (please bring back Sweater Weather!), I was ecstatic when I first saw Patch It Up, which is opaque in just two coats.

We have here an olive green nail polish, really perfect for the fall season, but I can also see myself using it a lot during the spring with some contrasting colors like Flying Solo, Blanc, or maybe even Cute as a Button.

Essie Never Too Bold Swatch

What Essie says:

step into your rebellious era and make a bold statement in this silver and deep teal metallic vegan nail polish with slight green undertones.

Along with Patch It Up, Never Too Bold is the second nail polish I really wanted from the Punk at Heart collection, meaning the second one that triggered yet another online order.

It’s described as a metallic nail polish, but it’s more of a deep teal polish with thin silver glitter – it’s exactly the kind of color I love wearing during the fall.

This one reaches full opacity in two to three coats; its formula is just a tad thinner than the other two.

Essie Studs & Spikes Swatch

What Essie says:

let your goth nails become a statement of defiance with this blackened maroon metallic vegan nail polish with silver, black, and maroon pearl with slight red undertones.

Studs & Spikes has a description that definitely suits it: it is a blackened maroon, and so muted that depending on the angle, it looks more grey or more taupe.

Like Patch It Up, it’s opaque in just two coats, and really the kind of statement, dark fall nail polish that can also suit winter weather perfectly, or great as a nail polish for parties.

Essie Punk At Heart Nail Polish Swatches (Fall 2024)

The Essie fall nail polish collections are some I await all year with increasing expectations.

And while I loved the Fall Out Of Line Fall 2023 collection (I got Full Blast, Dance Til Dawn and Meet Me at Midnight), this one is even prettier.

Metallic and glittery nail polishes are some I’ve been loving lately, what with the newly released colors in the Douglas Metal polish range, and new colors in their duochrome glitter range, too, which sparked even more love for these textures than I felt before.

Patch It Up and Never Too Bold are clearly my two favorites, and in hindsight, I’m thinking I would have done well to get the remaining three nail polish colors, just for the fun of it!
