As a nail polish addict and avid collector, I often like to stray away from mainstream brands like OPI, Essie, Orly, or Nails Inc.

I’ve been known to try all kinds of drugstore nail polish brands from Barry M to Maybelline, and even lesser-known brands like Pierre René Professional, Pastel or Golden Rose.

But there comes a time, after gravitating around duochrome, metallics and other oil slick nail polishes, when you need a reset in your stash.

That’s what happened to me a little over a year ago, when I fell in love with the mauve, nude, and sheer Essie nail polishes.

I naturally started checking out all the popular sheer nail polishes available on the market, with OPI Bubble Bath leading the pack in just about every blog post.

I’ve used many different OPI nail polish colors in the past months, from the gorgeous purple Achieve Grapeness from the Nature Strong range to the bright duochrome Pompeii Purple.

Some of my favorite OPI nail polishes are but sheers, with Bare My Soul, Passion and Put It in Neutral being ultimate go-to’s of mine.

Naturally, when I chose to purchase Funny Bunny, another famous sheer from OPI, I slipped Bubble Bath in my virtual cart as well.

I really wanted to see what all the hype ‘n’ fuss about Bubble Bath was; I’ve been hearing/seeing/reading about this OPI color for years now!

I’m going to cut to the chase here: the application process is remarkably nightmare-ish.

I almost always swatch my nail polishes with three coats, even more so when we’re talking about sheer nail polishes, as I can better plan my future comparisons.

So, Bubble Bath is swatched here with three coats.

Like any sheer nail polish, the thinner the coats, the better, and in my opinion, a good sheer should already be perfect from the first coat given the amount of pigment in there.

That’s not the case here.

OPI Bubble Bath Nail Polish: Buy Again or Buy Something Else?

In the case of OPI Bubble Bath, it’s not perfect from the first coat, nor with a second one, nor a third one on top of that.

It just always stays streaky in that strange way that makes me say, if given the opportunity to purchase the Bubble Bath nail polish again, I would not.

If I already have high standards for each nail polish I use, one such as Bubble Bath, with an RRP in Europe of about 20 euros, should offer the spickest-and-spannest experience.

Actually, since the color is really nice (although it was changed from a light, baby pink color to a pink with a soft peach undertone), I’m willing to try the other OPI products in this color.

I’ve seen the OPI Nail Envy in Bubble Bath exists, as well as Bubble Bath in the Infinite Shine range, and would love to try and compare to see which has the best formula and least-to-none streakiness.
